This is relevant to all citizens, not notaries

And IMHO it is no more irrelevant than many other OT posts on this board. Merely posting the link should not cause an attack on the poster. Posting rude, insulting, argumentative or controversial commentary is not called for at all.
My local newspaper ran a story on this same subject, and I read it as informative. Same here. This is not the place for any political commentary, but Jahari merely posted a link and did not add any political commentary.
A simple thanks for the link and no more would be sufficient to allow those who want to read it to do so and those that don't do not have to, and the thread would die a natural death like all the other OT threads.

The only way to stop or undo something like this is to get involved in your local community, in politics, in protests, and in legal ways to affect the political system. You don't do that on a notary board. If you want to stir up interest and action, go to an appropriate board, and that's not this board.

Hoorah! Such good advice....if you want to make a change, get out from behind that keyboard and stop playing. Find the good board and go for it!

I was beginning to think I was crazy to think that way.

Jahari is really more interested in posting a link, someone disagreeing then he likes to start ripping and snorting about how he just wants to bring some light on the subject--teach people who are stupid how to think...as if no one here is bright enough to know anything that he does. He doesn't get it that he's got lots of folks who agree with him here, lots who don't and none of us are interested in playing his rip and snort game any more with him.

That's what turned a bunch of people way against him, Sharon. It's easier just to ask him to go ahead and grandstand about his ideas and his way of seeing things with no regard to anyone else's opinion. He does NOT care about anyone's opinion but his own. And, when Jahari wants to debate and/or preach, ain't nobody able to stop him. You just have to lay down and take it 'cause it's coming at you.

Whatever...just get your words out and feel better Jahari. It's all about you. We understand that now and I for one am totally ready to step back and let you rant 'till you're done.

Whenever he or someone who does the same thing posts an OT just to start an argument, you just ignore the post. No answers to the post = no argument, no debate, no response of any kind - post drops out of sight.
By the way, several years ago a couple of chatboards (nothing to do with notary work) that I belonged to had major problems with posters coming on with highly inflamatory posts that would get the board stirred up, and some people would quit the board, etc. Eventually it came to light that there were groups of moron kids and teenagers with nothing better to do who had a "game" where they would each target a board or forum and try to get it stirred up. The game player who got the most people to quit a board or forum would be declared the winner.
Just think of Jahari as a "game player" - don't let him win!

You must be new to this board-Good advice you've given-But believe me,it never happens. Why should we have to ignore it when the rules clearly state "...Please keep off-topic posts to a minimum and avoid topics that others may consider offensive, such as politics and religion. Under no circumstance should the forum be used to further a political, ideological or religious agenda; these topics have nothing to do with the inherent neutrality of notarial functions and our board is therefore not an appropriate venue for them"???
