NNA Seminars

Someone else in MI posted the other day that they'd received a phone call from the NNA for and upcoming seminar in the Detroit Metro area. Well, today I got one. He started off by introducing himself and saying that he was calling to see if I'd be interested in their upcoming seminar to learn to be a signing agent and make from $50 to $150 per signing. My response: I am a past member of the NNA, have conducted over 4,000 loan signings in the past 5 years. I should be teaching this class instead of taking it, and if I did at least the students would come out of my class knowing what they were doing. CLICK!!!

OH I WISH they'd call me back, now that I'm over the flu and have all the energy I need to play with strangers on the phone!

What I'd REALLY like someone to ask them is - what database are they culling from??? If they call you - will you please ask them?

I wish I could chat with them. I'd like to know what they base their claims on...is there a DEMAND for notaries...or not?

In Texas it is so different than CA, et al...I tell people to go to the courthouse in their county and find out how many loans are available for them to close...discount the HELOCS...unless you have a "connection", discount most all home improvement loans except pools...no can do if the improvement is attached to the house, discount purchases, add in all the straight refis, and .01 of the new constructions, all of the rev morts...divide by the number of names that that appear as mobile notaries (use your horse sense on how to figure out who is) on those types of closings you can actually do and figure out...how many closings will I get called for a month if I am good, if I am a great marketer and if I am a little lucky and fairly blessed in life???

Don't shell out for training until you know if there is anything to be trained for. You don't have to believe me...do a little research and figure out if there's anything worth the investment and effort. It was great while it was booming. . . but....about all that is left now is the rev mort for Texans. I actually predicted this three years ago and many turned their nose up at me. It's not that I am so smart...it just makes sense.

I think their getting them

off the SOS site. At least that would be my guess. When their offices in Lansing are just across the street, it probably isn't too difficult.

Just to put this in perspective...

The local school district here offers adult ed classes. When I was looking through the winter catalogue, I found they were offering an NSA class - one night, 3 hours, includes a list of companies you can sign up with, and you're good to go. How scary is that?
