North Carolina Question

I am a paralegal and notary public in North Carolina. I just realized that in the past, I notarized some documents with the wrong venue. I entered the county of my commission instead of the county where the signing actually took place. I spoke with someone from the National Notary Association and they told me not to worry about it, that there is a statute of limitations and to continue notarizing correctly. Does anyone have any thoughts or run into problems like this before. Should I be losing sleep at night?

Dawn, I work in five counties and am sure I've made this mistake before. I'm not sure this is an obvious mistake if all the documents in the package have the same venue. No, I wouldn't lose sleep over this one, not likely you will be called to correct this. Perhaps someone here knows the legal implications of a document notarized with the wrong venue and will enlighten us.
