NotaryOne's "Notary Spaces" (Washington)

How many of you have received Scott Krager's email promoting his new idea of NotarySpaces? You "buy" your cities and are the only person who gets their name on that city, so you better act fast...

The way I read this...they basically serve as a web hosting site for you, and promote your business/website for you. The big question is HOW, exactly, do they do that besides just getting you high ratings for your website on google/yahoo searches. They want to charge between $50-100/MONTH, depending on how many cities you buy.

It also appears that his effort is geared toward cutting himself OUT of the signing service business and INTO the web hosting business for notary signing agents. If you didn't get the email, go to his website and you'll find a link to what I'm talking about.

What is not clear is how he is promoting these "notary spaces", BESIDES just counting on great search engine results. Most Title co's and lenders already know about the primary notary sites to locate a quick notary, don't they? Plus, don't you think that they want more than one name for a particular city/area in the event that the "ONE" person isn't available? Why should they conduct more than one google/internet search to find one notary for a single signing, when you can get a long list of numbers to call from NotRot or others? How many title companies do you think actually type in "notary XXXcity/state" into google instead of just going to the obvious NotRot, etc. in the first place?

The more I think about this, the more I think this guy is NUTS for coming up with such a goofy idea, and wanting to charge these kind of rates at a time when business is slowing and we are all seeking ways to PINCH pennies, not spend them on wasteful advertising.

Someone please...HELP ME put some rationale into this for me. What am I not seeing? Or do I see this very clearly?

No so, and I've heard about it. I can say that he'd be ripping both your money and your business. I'd bet that his SS (tag line) is advertised somewhere within your rented space.

I can not imagine how foolish people are in using competitors to help promote their business.

He (Scott) has tried many different ways to...

expand his business. I refuse to contribute to his website content and so should others, IMO.

If you don't mind someone earning $$$ off of your back, go right ahead and contribute. I choose not to contribute to his ideology.

Plus I got the following from him!

I got the following from Scott last week. I have not responded.

I've been working the past few weeks on a free ebook I am creating on marketing your mobile notary business. But, I NEED YOUR HELP!

I am looking for marketing tips, or general business tips for the mobile notary. I want to include these tips from our forum members for a seperate section in the book. If you'd like to contribute, and get published, reply back with your best marketing or mobile notary business tip you would share with someone looking to increase their signings, or start a new mobile notary business.

Please include your name, city, and state. And I will publish a weblink if you have a website you'd like to add below your name as well. Please try to come up with tips at least a paragraph long, but no more than 4 or 5 paragraphs.

Thanks so much for your help! I will send out a "preview copy" of the ebook later next week, once I receive your tips!

Regards,

Scott

I am still listed as a moderator, I get the messages that are posted in my e-mail, but there is never anything really posted to worry about.

Haha that is funny Becca. Did you graduate out of pre-school?
Sylvia I was just wondering if you were still involved or not.

No, not really "involved". I just scan the e-mails I get of messages that are posted and if there was anything that needed deleting I would do it.
I have seen too much misinformation over there. Not too long ago I saw someone post that copies of photo ID's are required for Reverse Mortgages! Huh ! LOL
