OT: To JinCA
Hi J! Just wondering how the weather is looking in the next few days up your way. My son will be driving back up to school and I'm hoping for smooth sailing all the way. Thanks!

Hi Colleen, He missed the bad weather. It should be mostly sunny. Today is sunny, but cold. I think if it rains it won't be much of a storm, as the forcast is for mostly fair weather thru the weekend. No worries! J.

Re: OT: Thanks J!
He will be leaving early Monday morning. It is supposed to be in the high 80's here then and we will watch the weather for the rest of the trip. The Grapevine always concerns me, but as long as it stays dry and the wind dies down all should be well.
No worries????? I can never seem to stop! By the way, he and his roomate are living in a townhouse on G Street right next door to Chans Restaurant. He told us that they are really having problems with homeless hanging out in the front of the restaurant being drunk and loud all night long. They and the owner of the restaurant have called the police many times to no avail. They are really starting to get tired of it (and yet another reason for me to worry). Sean's bedroom window faces the restaurant so he gets the brunt of it. Of course, they don't want these guys to know they are the ones complaining. He will probably look for another place for next year. Any suggestions on who to call to get some action?
Thanks!

Re: OT: Thanks J!
I'm glad he's leaving on Monday. I thought he was coming today, and it is raining. I think the weather is supposed to improve next week. South G st is notorious for being a bad neighborhood. Lots of homeless, and drunks. I read stuff about it in the Arcata Eye all the time. Unfortunately, there is nothing being done about it. If he wants to live in Arcata, I suggest getting away from downtown. There are a lot of student housing areas, that are not that great either. Lots of loud parties, and slum lords. A year ago I was looking for a new place to live, and gave up on Arcata. I found an affordable rental in a fairly quiet and safe neighborhood in Eureka. Of course there are terrible areas in Eureka too. Feel free to ask anything else you want to know! J.
