Gee! Doesn't that just make you feel all warm & fuzzy. NOT! My biggest concern is the information that companies want us to give. Personally I see no need for half that information. First we (at least in Colorado) have a background check done by the State. Then of course there's your E&O insurance (I carry $200K) don't ever think that an insurance company doesn't do a background check on you. Then your car and home insurance there again they definitely check your credit scores and background. Insurance companies just don't like to insure desperados'. Sooooo! What other information should be made available to companies. The people that work for these companies are the ones that commit the most fraud. About 5 years ago Advanta in Colorado Springs had an employee that reopened closed accounts and had a real HayDay with $400K in charges before they caught up with her. The fact is these companies pay slave wages and hire whoever they can get. Makes on wonder , doesn't it.
So much for security.

Re: This is exactly where my beef is.........
I would like to see my State do this and hold on to it. An "I have been Commissioned by the State of Wisconsin which includes a thorough BGC." Done deal. You know the states records are secure. Not to mention they probably dont sell or share your personal information. If it is an issue with knowing how to protect the borrowers/signers personal information, if you do a little research you can find out how to take measures for this and do up a form for companies, borrowers, or anyone that would need that info. And how about the networks banning together to take a vow of a sort. Or teaching the network how to protect borrowers/signers personal information. That we are committed to complying with this request.

I went to my online bank acct today to find 2 bogus charges "Pending." One was for Peoplefinder.com and the other was a Western Union transfer (a sizable amount). After 2 hours on the phone with both companies and our bank, I finally got the charges reversed. Someone had used my hubby's debit card # for the Peoplefinders to get more info on him and then charged a Western Union transfer. Ugh!
