Virginia notaries

I have a friend that is interested in becoming an NSA and I was trying to find out the requirements for Virginia but wasn't having much luck. It looks like there is alot more to it then what my state (CT) requires. If anybody knows any websites or somebody she would need to contact, I would appreciate it. Thanks

Sylvia - thanks for the website but that only gives info on becoming a notary. I think there is additional things that need to be done to be a signing agent. I read something about having an escrow license

Nope - nothing specific is needed besides being a currently commissioned Notary Public. However, due to our CRESPA laws, we may not handle funds to or from the borrower unless we also hold a Title Producer's License. If funds are owed, borrower must wire funds or send the check separately. We cannot touch it or include it in our package. She can google CRESPA to find out about it.
