waiting... and the gripe
Waiting on a call back for a signature on an affidavit tonight...
On Friday I close this deal for these borrowers. On Tuesday night, I show up at the same title company for another deal, and, on their way our the door, they hand me this affidavit that they tell me needs to be signed for Friday's closing. "Oh, you mean nobody called you?" That's all that I get from the title rep. Luckily, I was in the same building as the loan officer whom belonged to said deal, and he gladly gives me the contact information that I need.
This morning I call the title company office to see if I can get any more information than what I got from the loan officer, and to compare numbers. I also was hoping to get in touch with whomever drew the closing documents to ask them why they didn't have this document ready yesterday or earlier today, and that I really didn't appreciate having the document given to me at the end of the day without any information. After a series of phone calls, come to find out that the file had passed hands a number of times, with nobody claiming ownership of the file. Supposedly nobody has any contact information, there's no notes in the file, and that I should check with the loan officer. She terminates the call before I can humor myself and ask her who the LO is. Then later, the title company did indeed speak with the people that I need to speak with, and that they won't be available to sign until later tonight.
Oh, and by the way, was I available to close for them tonight?
I took a breath, smiled into my phone, and said, "Well, if you've got me waiting around for this person to call me back to drive an hour to their house tonight, I'm not sure that I can commit to anything else for you tonight."
I am so frustrated......

Please tell me you didn't really pass up a paying job so you could sit around and wait to schedule something that may or may not actually happen tonight.
