If you think that is bad...someone called last week to offer $90.00 for a first and second. Needless to say they had to go elsewhere

A newly minted notary from the NNA will be happy taking that signing and even feel good after the signing

Re: When it's slow, ya gotta have revenue
But if that "revenue" costs you more than the expenses and taxes, it's a fool's errand... Be careful where you draw that line.

**Re: When it's slow, ya gotta have revenue**
Revenue like that just digs a deeper hole...what Janet said is true...be careful where you draw the line. Even if you "don't need the money" or "this is just part-time" why go on that fool's errand and take a pittance for the effort when you could just stay home and pay a $4 rental fee to watch Deadwood and keep your bottom line higher?
Who can respect a worker who would do less?

What? You all actuall want to make money doing this?
Those fees are a disgrace to professionals. Pitiful, just pitiful, but not quite as sad as those people accepting the fees.

Re: To the SA who accepts the $40.00 signing
that I just turned down.
Do you realize that tomorrow is EOM? Did you consider it's during rush hour? I know, I know, it's on the way to another signing, a good paying one.....
May they read the deed, (twice), call their LO (three times) and finally, after you're already late for your next appt., decide not to sign. But hey, I'm sure you'll get at least a $15.00 no sign fee.

New premier member in my area is posting NNA minimum
fees on the NNA website. Have thought about it for awhile. Called the NNA to ask what the purpose of those minimums are and when and if they were going to be adjusted. The NNA representative explained that the new NSA had to start somewhere and intimated that these were "training fees" and that a seasoned signing agent should get more. I pointed out that they have not adjusted the minimum for a long time and that many states and others have adjusted "minimum wages," why haven't they. Like the recent NSA close to me, many of these recent grads are setting a level too far below realistic. So the person suggested I submit the question in writing on the NNA website. I did so. A message says a response will be made within 24 hours. This could be interesting.
Also sent a message to the person with the premier membership asking that they consider a review of the topic here for hints on what fees should be for a person with experience (NNA profile mentions 5 years notary experience).
Any interest in a post of the response from NNA (if they give one)?
