Anyone want to help me with my reply?

Hello Joe:

I liked your web site. I'm a 51 year old family man in LA County. I've always been successful in sales...and I want to get out of sales. Having a family, I do not have time to go to school for years. I'm considering becoming a certified loan signer/notary.

I'm wondering if it's possible to build a business as one...or an agency as well..to make over 100,000 per year. I know how to hustle...daily...as I've built a busines before. I'm wondering if it's possible to build a n income at that level by doing a lot of jobs everyday...or...to build an agency "farming" jobs out to a lot of loan signers. Have you ever heard of anyone reaching these levels.

I'd greatly appreciate your input. I 'm hoping that you might help me with your feedback as I offer no competition.

Thank you!

refer him to the facts contained in the posts at NotRot, starting with the changes that are impacting the SA so greatly now, to the fact that there is great amt. of info here to research before jumping on the NNA 'road to glory and riches'. Mention that if he still is considering this business when he is finished reading this free gold mine of info that you will be willing to point him to other chat boards where others are struggling as well.
It seems to me that here is another wanting to join the gravy train w/o comprehensive research done on their own. Wants to get out of sales? what do we do each day: marketing, more marketing, networking, marketing. Ah - the simple life...

Also, ref. msg #201169 and the ensuing thread - schemes for getting us to lower our fees, showing how fees going down, not up. Even is someone doesn't start from the beg. to read board, just past couple of days gives not so encouraging views.

.... I received it also...

I received the same email this morning, from Lew at what seemed like a valid email address. I am so leery of these sorts of things, both because of the virus possibilities & the fact that he could be on the next block over & not in L.A.. like he states, that I just deleted it. That is besides that fact that anybody w/half a brain can usually get that info from carefully reading this, or another, board.

Financially, in my opinion, it would be a very dumb move? Great salespeople make a very nice income after 5 years in their business. Over 100,000 in this business in this environment is very difficult and even in a good environement. My input would be do not leave sales now, wait till this mortgage market turns for the better, which could be a while.

Thanks JohnnyB. We have both been in this business many years so I value your input. In fact when we started we had to make it up as we went along. Remember? But I firmly believe that someone who self motivated, has a proven track record of success in any business can apply what they already know to this growing NSA business (and it is still young) and be very successful. I'm sure you can agree that the need for good notaries will never go away and there are companies out there that can really help a motivated individual achieve excellence. You just have to want it.

I started selling insurance in 1983 and after about 5 years of so so income I met an agent that introduced me to the founder of an Insurance Company. I had the pleasure of having lunch with this great man and he was very candid with me. He said that if I want something bad enough and are willing to sacrifice my time and effort I could achieve my goal of success. I went on to eventually become the southern california manager for that company with over 35 exclusive agents working directly under me. All guys that I had personally hired and trained. I'm no longer with that company due to a shift in the Insurance Market but I am still a part time Insurance agent. But I have been on to a new and more exciting opportunity for almost a decade. Notary Public and NSA.

The Notary signing agent opportunity is going through a shake up right now and that's why there is a lot on negative feelings however does anyone really think the opportunity is going away? I didn't think so.

Sure, I'd love to do it too!

Yes, I'd like to quit my stressful job, farm out work to notaries and make $100,000 a year. Sounds like he wants to open a signing service. Now, it seems to me, that in a way, SS have it worse than us. They have to handle all the headaches that notaries goof up, they have to get clients (like Ditech), and pay the notaries before they pay themselves. Even when things were red hot a few years back, I knew I didn't want THOSE problems.

I feel so bad for XP Doc: they lose a client and she is worried about losing her house. If we lose a client, we just go on to the next signing service.

P.S. I think sales is a gift.

I have tried sales, and I cannot do it. I am good at deciphering legal docs, so SA works for me (I used to be a paralegal, and legaleze is easy for me).

I think if you can do sales, you are BLESSED! I also knew a guy in insurance, and he made a LOT of money. I wanted to do that, but I can't sell.

I also tried for a while selling Living Trusts. I would go to the people's home, explain the importance of a trust, and fill out the application. Later, when the trust was ready, I would go back and get it all signed and notarized. It was perfect for me, since I was already driving around as a SA. But I could not SELL the trusts.

He's about 4 years too late IMO

for that kinda coin.
FWIW, I received an email from one of the two SS I still work with, stating she is having trouble paying every 2 weeks as indicated in her contract with me, due to the slow-down in the business, and the lateness of payments she's receiving from TC's.
Until the next REFI BOOM, we're all just treading water right now.

Yes, are you correct! Does anyone have pictures on the current Fed chairman so he will lower interest rates again

There is definitely someting attractive about doing this business, even though making a huge amount of money and retiring early is not one of them. In my home zip code on Notrot, the numbers of competitors are still going up. Can't figure why anyone would want to go into this business right now.

If she ran her business smartly during the boom time, she would have stashed enough for the bad times
