Assignment without a confirmation.

I received a call from a company with a # 760-788-3800. Steve told me that someone did not do correct job and I need to redo. l asked him send me a confirmation, but he did not send it. However, I received docs by mail. If anyone has an experience with this company. I spoke to Steve, and told him my concern. Any information about this company will be helpful.

I would NOT print docs or go to the appointment without a written confirmation of fee, name and address of hiring company. I have a few regular TC's that sometimes don't send me a confirm because they get busy, but I know I will not have a problem with payment from them. With some company I've never worked for before, no way. The ones that don't send a confirm are usually trouble. There are so many no-pay companies out there right now - I would proceed with caution on this one.

Did one assignment without a confirmation and was burned. Took months to get paid. They had no record of it although I could provide all information, borrowers, city, time, tracking. I could prove everything but the fee. Be very careful.

Re: Why not call Steve...

and ask for a confirmation? You have the phone number. While you're at it, ask what company he is with and then use the SEARCH button to make sure that you want to work for them. JMHO

Re: Why not call Steve...

Thanks everybody for your responses. I feel like I have a family. I love my Notary Rotary. I received the confirmation. I hope there will be no problems. The only problem I see that I do not have to notarize docs only correct misspeled last name with initials. Hohostly, I hate to do corrections, but that what lender needs now. My role is today only a messanger. I would rather to do everything by myself. However, we do not judge.

Re: Why not call Steve...

I went through the package and figured out that the lender wants me to correct two docs. of correct borrower's name in notarial section. Hm.............. I called to them and told there is no way I will do it. I'll renotarize those docs. with my seal and my signature, and put today's date. It is against the law to change somebody's notarization.

Re: Why not call Steve...

I just want to make clear that we never and would never ask someone to backdate documents under any circumstances. The lender simply wanted these documents corrected and notarized by the new notary for the date that the documents were corrected. Thank you.
