If a company claims you missed a notarization, have them fax/send you the document. Never notarize or send back a blank acknowledgement form; it's like a blank check - it could be attached to anything, and could have disastrous consequences.

Have them fax you the documents you were suppose to have missed. That will settle the case if your stamp is on the same page as the signature you notarized. If it is a loose acknowledgement or jurat, proving them wrong is a little more difficult as sometimes the person going through the documents may misplace a loose jurat. I staple loose certificates except the DOT or other documents that is recorded with the county. I paper clip those. If they are claiming you missed a date or made a typo on a loose ack. or jurat, have them fax it for proof.
But check you work a few times before dropping the documents.

It is easy to miss a signature or a stamp, even with checking. I am so used to knowing what it is supposed to look like, that I can still miss the obvious, like a date on an ack. But it is REALLY best to have them fax you to the mistake so you can see it.
Once in a while, they say you missed a signature, when really, they forgot to include the doc, and they want you to eat it. So it is best to take a look at the mistake. If you really did make the mistake, they are HAPPY to show it to you. Also, you need to put their name on the ack EXACTLY as it was typed, so having the error to look at will help you get it super right.
