Re: Does anyone use IX Web Hosting? Your experience? Thx!

I have 5 domains hosted with IX Webhosting. While I like their prices, the email addresses that go to those domains get 100x more spam than any other host I use. For my REClosingAgent site, I use Hazel Webhosting and love them. I've also used GoDaddy, and had problems getting large attachments, like loan documents with their servers, so that is why I keep anydomain where I'm email dependent for large files with hazelwebhosting.

You bet!

I've moved all my own sites and the sites that I 'manage' to IX servers. A development company that I am working with has also moved all their development sites and processes to IX.

IX Webhosting provides the best service that I have found. However, their servers aren't for everyone. Their philosophy is not to impede the users, so they don't employ unwanted "filters" or other blocking agents on your sites. They leave that up to you. As someone else pointed out, the level of spam is a bit higher with some IX addresses, but if reported, they do investigate and have stopped many spammers. I recommend using ChoiceMail One in conjunction with your email client on your local machine. That way, you can easily catch all the spam and junk, but won't miss anything that your ISP "thinks" you shouldn't get.

Re: You bet!

I'm happy with my yahoo & local ISP email accounts, so I don't plan to utilize an [e-mail address] account. Still, even with email not being a factor, there are so many hosting services out there to pick from. It's dizzying. My research thus far has mainly made me realize how much I don't know!

Even on this forum, the computer-speak sometimes throws me for a loop, but I'm still slogging forward, bound and determined to get my own "dot-com." I think I can, I think I can...
