totally INSANE.....
There is not a set fee. use the orange "search" button and type in "fees", "no no".
We are not going to tell you what to charge.

It also states above to read the Rules & Guidelines before you post.

What does this post mean anyway?
Perhaps try the search feature before asking questions I guess.

Heres my question to Nataliya

I apologize if I messed up your name.
If you were to get a job at a fine jewelry store, wouldnt one of the questions that you would ask during the interview be "What will I be making per hour or what is my salary and how often do I get paid?"
So you're getting into loan signings and either A: Someone told you about it or B: You took a class for it.
Either way, did you not ask them, see above, how much to charge for loan signings? What is the difference between being an employee or self employeed?
Or did you do any internet searching on the profession to see what you would make? Or did someone just tell you it would be real good money?
I quess I dont understand how someone starts into a business without an idea on what they are going to make or need to make in order to stay in business.

Re: Heres my question to Nataliya

The difference in being "an employee and self employed" is the fact there are no "internships" when you're self employed...
I couldn't resist.

You're the one who didn't even do something as basic as decide on your fee structure before going into business, yet you're calling someone else an idiot? I guess it takes one to know one.

Re: Stupid Idiot??...She even sent me a private email.

Me too also, LOL. I got one saying how judgemental I am being. I was new at this and still consider myself new. It never occured to me to ask about fees. I went by trial and error and common sense that I am running a business and to stay in business I had to make a profit.
There are too many so called classes for this and the new people cant see that the class they took is worthless and all about lining the pocket of the entity who gave the class. Do they instruct the students to contact the SBA to research being self employeed? Do they instruct them to do Market Research in their area? What are they teaching them? When I got my commission, I didnt touch a loan for 4 months. I think they are telling people, get your commission and start stamping!

First of all, I think you should go back to school and learn how to spell (or type and use spell check). Secondly, you sound like perhaps you might be a signing service (or working for one) and testing the waters out there to see if someone would be stupid enough to tell you what to charge - so you could low ball the notaries accordingly. Third - go ask the NNA. I am sure they will be more than "GLAD" to tell you what to charge.

Re: Fees - the acceptable fees for your area

are $375 per signing within 5 miles of your home. If you travel further, you should be charging $1.50 per mile, and if you have any tolls roads to take you should double that amount and add that fee to your signing fee as well. Faxc backs are an additional $50 for 10 pages, another 50 if more.
I hope this helps.

Re: Fees - the acceptable fees for your area

I just want to say this, and maybe because I'm a chrisitian woman, and like to help people.....well.....I read all of your comments to this "new person". I think all of "you" are quite rude. Now it is one thing if this is a signing company trying to get notaries to work for less....inexcusable to write us and be sneaky! I agree with all of you on that! However, if this is truly someone who is brand new (yes, she should have looked at the message boards, or called NNA) to get some fee information. Maybe she didn't know. Instead of being so nasty why couldn't some of you just provide her with some constructive information......I mean really.....name calling? What are we 2 year olds here? Aren't we supposed to be professsionals, and assist our fellow notaries? Isn't this site supposed to support everyone instead of bashing everyone? I'm sure I'll get some nasty comments on this! Bring it on.

Re: Fees - the acceptable fees for your area

you are right, Sheriden. I'm glad I didn't call names. She actually sent me a private message calling me an idiot. I didn't feel as if I was rude, can't you see that these are signing services trying to kill us here. I will be sure not to post any more to newbies. I will just watch them sink.

She sent me a PM, too, and advised me I was wasting her time.
Gee... the first PM I ever got and I couldn't get to it, so I ask for help, someone was kind enough to point me in the right direction, and that's what I spent all that time and effort retrieving. ):
