Jarrod Rodges/First Choice Signing Service

Well, I received one check from Jarrod Rodgers yesterday for a signing due from May '07. There is still an outstanding invoice from May and two more in early June '07. I have read on another notary chat board where he sent a woman a check and it bounced!!! I hope the check he sent me clears. I've called all the brokers and filed with the BBB in regard to the other invoices. DEADBEAT COMPANY!

I hope you are noting this in signing central. Need to keep track of these deadbeats.

Oh! You BET I have! He says he is sending the payment (over 60 days) and then says they must have been lost in the mail-- to wait a few more days, a few more, a few.... then he says he will put a stop payment on the check (that he never sent) and send a new one. I have had to call the brokers on four different invoices, who have said that HE was paid and they didn't understand why I wasn't paid. They didn't like that he isn't paying the notaries, they all said they would call Jarrod. I told one broker, I had read on another notary chat board that Jarrod Rodgers sent a woman who he has played the same game with, sent her a check but it was bad-- it had bounced!! YIKES!!!!! She still has not received her payment. FIRST CHOICE SIGNING SERVICE/JARROD RODGERS -- WATCH OUT!

Re: bounced checks

When a person gets a bad check they need to turn it over to thier District Attorneys office and let them take care of it. They have to attend a class and pay a fine. Maybe they will learn not to play that game with us, that we mean business. Jarrod is know for printing the checks when they are due but not mailing them out until he is forced to. Send him a demand letter and you will get his attention.

Re: bounced checks

I did not see his info on Signing Central. Let's get it on there so everyone will know when they look up his company info.

Re: now listed for nationwide coverage

I had to take a check to the local P.D. that bounced for $200. It was from one of my best clients. This was very hard for me to do, but the owner of the company wasn't returning my calls and was always (away from the office, meeting with their attorney, on vacation, etc...).

After a month of the run-around I contacted the police department. They gave me a letter to send to the her certified mail, signature required. If she doesn't pay up within 5 days of someone signing for the letter, I take it along with the returned check to the police department and they will file charges and complete the collection process. Check with your local police department and see if they offer similar services.
