Looking for a wedding certificate program
that allows me to add the couple's names and print out the certificate with their names. The one I have makes me add their names by hand to the cert. after it has printed. Any suggestions?

Dont know of any programs, but if you can make your own, word or excel can be made into a template that can be used over and over again with the blanks you need. A fresh document everytime you open it.

Re: just curious... for those that perform weddings...how many
I, myself, do not do very many. I mainly advertise that I am a Mobile Notary/Signing Agent and list weddings as more of a "oh, by the way, I preform weddings too". The one for tomorrow is to be here at my home. The couple have a boat and originally wanted me to go on the boat and marry them....However, I am not a boat person and since they couldn't find anyone else to do it tomorrow I suggested they come here, which they are going to do and then go on the boat. I have done only one "renewal of vows" and I did one wedding that the couple said they would only get married if they could say their I dos very quickly and with little wording, they wanted less than a minute of "do you? I do". Which to me didn't seem very romantic. But then again I wouldn't want to jump out of a plane and say my vows plunging to the ground with a parachute neither. I believe everyone has their own ideas of what makes up the perfect wedding. Also, there are supposed to be 3 times the number of marriages preformed tomorrow than what a normal Saturday in July has since it is thought to be a very lucky day, 07/07/07.

I love officiating weddings. In NJ we can't officiate as a Notary Public, but we can if we are ordained. I did it through the ULC and have performed a few backyard weddings & beach weddings.
It's alot of fun.
How much do you charge for a wedding in FL??

Re: just curious... -Jersey Boy
Florida laws allow us to charge $30 for a wedding, we cannot charge more than the clerk of the court. However, we can charge travel and other fees. For $30 the couple would have to come to me and be married at the kitchen table

Re: just curious... for those that perform weddings...how many
Hi Tess. My weddings are seasonal and the bulk are done around late Spring-early Summer and around Christmas time. Weddings are not in the usual California notary menu but I am an ordained minister also and I do all types of weddings, non-denominational as well as for numerous Christian denominations: I am also frequently sought out by Pagans to consecrate their nuptuals. Once I was asked to desecrate someones nuptuals but I refused. Notaries are allowed to issue a certain type of marriage license in California so the combination works for me. I actually do some unusual weddings including mountain tops, on skiis and snowshoes, in canoes and kayaks, forest groves, beaches, underwater, and on yachts as well as islands. I have always been reluctant to jump out of a perfectly good airplane and refuse those types although I did a wedding in a private jet once to commemorate the couples original mile-high meeting. I've had a wedding on the edge of a cliff where the bride and groom floated off into the sunset on a traction kite. I try to stay away from churches for my own safety; I've been told by a good friend who is a Catholic priest that if I were to ever enter a church it would probably come crashing down on me. If you can't have fun, why bother?

Just a clarification
Calif notaries may issue confidential marriage licenses ONLY IF they are allowed by their county and have taken a special class. My county, San Mateo, are not allowing this at this time for new notaries. However you still may not officiate a wedding ceremony unless you are ordained as a few of are. CA notaries check with your county if you are interested in doing confidential marriages.
