NREIS deserves a pat on the back!
3 Signings over the last three weeks for them, and just received full payment. Now, this is the way to run a company!

"best paying companies I know..." ????!!!!
Guess you weren't around when they were paying $110 for overnight docs and $140 for edocs (for one loan...) not all that long ago - and were NOT among the best paying at that level. Sheesh... This thread really illustrates how things have changed in this industry - and what direction it's headed! How very sad to get excited about a company just because they pay what they owe in a reasonably timely manner.

How do you find out if a ss does business in your state?

Re: NREIS
I did a goggle search for the company and found their website and they had a map that shows the states they are licensed in.

that they severely cut fees last year! They sing like the birdies...cheap, cheap, cheap.

I for one wrote them off when they called and asked me to take a 50.00 per signing cuts:-o Perhaps some of these folks are new and don't remember or were not around when decent fees were being paid:-)

Not mine
They were upset this very evening that I would not take $65 for overnight docs with a 30 minute drive each way. Gosh I am so sorry that I want to make money for the professional service that I provide...

These are newbies IMO that don't know what the "old" rates .
used to be. They think they are making out like gang busters because they never got their fees cut from these companies. Those of us who used to get 50% more, don't feel as the newbies do. I see a lot of newbies thrilled to be getting half of what we used to get. From what some of them say (that they have been in this business for awhile) I guess they never got business from this company so they don't know what they missed. JMHO

Re: These are newbies IMO that don't know what the "old" rates .
Is there a standard rate across the board that we should be charging? I just don't think we can command the fees here in Arizona that say, California or New York can. I certainly don't want to undermine the business, and I thought my rates were a step above the $50 & $75 signings. Now, after hearing from others, I'm doubting that I'm charging enough. I'd like to hear from others in Arizona, if they think $185 for a 1st & 2nd is too low. The most I've ever gotten was $200, but not lately.

Not knowing where you live
I would assume that the cost of living is not comparable to the Napa Valley nor to Miami. Set your rates be competitve and move forward. One of the worse things one can do is start second guessing themselves especially using a chat board to do it. Of course that pertains to my missive too. Good luck.

Re: Not knowing where you live
I haven't been around a long time but for 7 years I saw the fees NSA's were getting on the HUD and I'm happy to say when I worked for WAMU I was able to talk with some of them on how to charge for the service provided. I decided to go with the area I live (cost of living) in and what I feel my work is worth with all the expenses.
For example Nations Direct called and wanted a closing done in NJ in two hours for $60. Ummmm!!! Hello but we NSA's work hard and so they heard my fee and never called back. If they want a professional then they will pay the fee necessary. If they want to pay a lower fee to someone else than that is their perogative but they look bad if the package is done up wrong. So now they may have to pay a second fee which may cost more down the road.
No point in arguing the issue on the TC's not paying because they simply do not want quality work.
It's their loss.

I feel the Title companies do not allow for errors. I think they are very strict, and if you don't do a good job, you don't get called back.

Re: They meet my fees
Maybe they meet our fees because we ARE in rural areas. I, too, have no problems with NREIS. Not only do they meet my fees but the check is in my mailbox in less than 30 days. Last one I got was cut, mailed, and to me within 10 days. I think they know it is not easy to find good "help" and you have to pay to keep it and pay in a timely manner.

In my area, and I am in a rurual area they offer 90.00 for
e-docs, a far cry from the 200.00 you used to get for e-docs + travel. If you are getting that amount you are above the curve. If not, now you know where it used to be:-)

why won't someone say their fee?
I see this thread filled with ... meet my fee... good fees... etc. Why won't someone say what that is? I no longer work for them. Back in 2005 (when I finished with them) they paid $115 for overnight docs - no travel involved. Their e-doc fee was $140. What are the 'good fees' you guys are receiving today?

Probably $75 for e-docs
I don't work for them any more. We have several newbie cut-throats that do e-docs for $75.

Re: why won't someone say their fee?
I did, and got skinned alive. $185 for a 1st & 2nd through NREIS. (Usually $200 if at a Title company.) Guess I'm not charging enough, according to some NotRot members. I have figured my costs to operate. Toner refills at Cartridge World, Costco paper, E&O insurance is $164 for 4 years, Time and Travel, Wear & Tear on car, ( Am I missing anything?) and I still thought I was making a profit.

The Title company usually has the docs printed, so no e-docs.

That just means you're undercutting other people. If you think $65 for a refi (docs to borrower) and $90 for a refi with e-docs is a GREAT DEAL, you aren't wrapped too tight. Remember, new IPOD phones are $600. That's a lot of $65 closings...

Goodgirl needs a calculator
I don't see where you get your figures from. I did a refinance closing on a first mortgage with edocs - total pages printed was 94 and drove 20 minutes to the borrower's home. Sent an invoice for $180. and was paid that amount. Where do you get the $90. & $65. from? I don't think YOU are wrapped too tight....or maybe you are wrapped a little too tight and it has effected the circulation to your brain. LOL

This sounds like a Hypocrite. Goodgirl talks out both sides of her mouth. She when asked what her fee is will gladly say $75. But then want to BLAME the SS's saying they offered her a paltry $75 job.
I think she is just lonely and needs friends.
