Precision Closing of CA
Just received a call from Precision Closing here in California. Wanted me to do some kind of 'notary work' sometime between now and the next two weeks. Said it was only one document and could I do it for $30.00? I have no idea what that was as before she went any further I let her know that I did a signing for them last year that I was never paid for. I do believe that was just poor accounting on their part and not malicous but I called and called and called and emailed and my issue was never acknowledged or resolved. After I said all that she said, well will you still do the signing for us? I said of course, right after you pay me. She put me on hold and never came back.
Just wondering if anyone else has had this experience or something comparable lately

I had a signing company call me to do a one page document for $30. It was a quitclaim deed. The BO was going through a divorce and his wife refused to sign any loan documents with her name on them. This company I had already accepted the signing job for a Refi with said borrower and that is when I found out that the borrower needed a quitclaim deed as his wife wouldnt even return his pleading calls to come and sign the documents.

Re: Zee..it was one document - not a full closing..
Although I think I, personally, would ask for $45-50 to cover travel, time, etc..unless it was within a couple miles. MHO

Re: Zee..it was one document - not a full closing..
If it is only one document, then here in Florida I would charge $10 for the notarization plus a reasonable travel fee - my minium travel fee though would be $35, so $45 would be fair if it is fairly close.

Poor accounting could explain the payment being initially overlooked. Ignoring multiple phone calls and emails is definitely malicious and a willful intent to deliberately screw you over.

Hence my refusal to proceed unless paid. Clearly I was still sufficiently annoyed to come up with the particulars of the signing while on the phone with them. I can't prove malice or not. I can avoid knowingly making the same mistake.

Thank you Kim. I also exchanged email with Stephanie Hoaglund who helped me solve the issue. I do wish my calls had been addressed before bringing my complaint to this venue but I am impressed with their response now. Thanks again.
