Quick Help Please---Credible Witness Question
I am meeting a borrower at her employers to use 2 bosses as credible witnesses. I have never used credible witnesses before. Do I need the Credible Witness Affidavit for Each and Every Notarized document in the package? Or just the 1? Thanks Karen Florida

Just remember in Florida you can only use credible witnesses if the signer is unable to get ID - if they are in a nursing home, hospital or otherwise incapacitated. As you are meeting the signer at her employers she is not incapacitated and should be able to get ID

If she is at work, she should be able to get from human reso
resources as should be on file as condition of employment.

Julianne I talked to Karen, and the borrower did have a drivers license, however it did not have her middle initial on it, or a middle name, and the docs had the middle initial, so Karen could not ID her as the name on the docs.

How did Fl let that happen? SS have full name? I am always
counseling people to get one name and stick with it, not to deviate one bit as it causes so much grief to those left behind when they die, which they all will one day. I don't care how they sign it, whether scrawl, squiggley line or neat as Pitman showed us in grade school, but settle on one style too. Minor changes are to be expected in signature, but for crying out loud, have some consistency. It behooves us all to settle on one name and get rid of all the other AKA's. PS: I go by Julie, my angry mother calls me by full name and one thing I feel certain of, you are not an angry person, Sylvia. Peace to all, and wear your seatbelts!

Sorry about using your full name, Julie. No, I am not an angry person - although I am aiming that way at the moment (my husband just ate the piece of strawberry shortcake he said he bought for me as he doesn't eat desserts!!!) jk
Apparently the lady transferred her license from another state and the drivers license office didn't put her middle initial or name on the new license.
My DL had my maiden name on it as my middle name for years, I finally got them to change it to my correct middle name last time I renewed my license.

Also in Florida each county seems to have a variation on the theme - some say you MUST use your full middle name (as a friend of ours found out a couple years ago), some say you MUST use your maiden name as your middle name or give the people the option (their choide no matter what they've been known as for the last umpteen years), some say whatever you want (like Columbia County did for us here) - bottom line is there doesn't seem to be a uniform guideline throughout the state of Florida for names on DL's.
