Re Titlestream
I had a call from Titlestream today requesting me to do a rev mtg closing for them tomorrow morning. told them that normally I would say yes but due to the very very bad reputation from notaries here on notrot that they don't pay their notaries, that I was sorry I couldn't accept it. he then said, are saying we don't pay our notaries or we are just late? I said don't pay and late pay are somewhat the same to me. I do my job, get it back to the title company in a timely manner and expect to be paid for my services in a timely manner. No, I cannot do it for you. He said, I understand. Just thought I would throw this out there.

Good for you. Good for us. This is the kind of 'tell 'em like it is' behaviour that will serve all notaries well. Maybe it'll help speed up payment and stop the abuse. Way to go!

Good for you Monica...
It seems futile to try to get them to pay on time or to respect the signing agent's right to their money in a timely manner through any means; however, why should they as long as they have notaries who are (1) aware of their extremely slow pay methods and work for them anyway, or (2) newly manufactured by the XYZ?
It's embarrassing to see all the posts here about TitleStream. They are in Texas and comparatively speaking, they are one of the few national contractors of notary services in Texas. Compared to other states, I mean. It would be pleasant if they wouldn't act as if this is the wild west and thus that they hire whatever destitute notary available to do the jobs and that they stand around waiting eager-eyed like puppies to get a pat on the head in the form of a check.
It's just more of a demonstration of how notaries are not the sharpest ones in the business knife drawer. I hate that and I hate that a place heavily connected with Texas is proving itself to be as rickety as SoX when trying to get across the bridge to the place of payment.
Go to the lender and TLTA with your stories of drastically late payments. It's the only way that will get their attention. The loan officers have no idea, and yes...some of them do care.

Thank You Monica!!
I have been doing the same thing with the comps who are known to have a bad payment history either not at all or slow pay. There used to be theory on here that maybe a person would have better luck with a company than someone else did. I think that has passed and now we are looking out for the better good of our own services and standing up for eachother on this issue. I, IMO, think this will have a major impact on comps. I love that Harry has added the linking for the comps so now I have more resources for finding the naughty comps. I think someone should start a website called "Newbie Notary Alliance", LOL. And that could be a reference for the person starting out in this biz no matter where they received their training, with realistic views and information on the biz. I know a silly thought, but the idea is to target the mass production of notaries and curb their ideas of easy, big money that they are so mislead to believe.

Great Monica, we all need to take a stand. I added Title Stream to the signing central and hope that more people will just say NO
