Slow in North Florida

This has been the slowest month for me in North Florida. Has anyone else experienced the same. I am hoping it will pick up soon :-(

At least for me... It was nice at first with the holiday and I had alot of other stuff to do, but now I'm getting antsy!

Hi Chucke,

Where in North Florida do you live?

I have been surprisingly steady so far for the month of July. I even turned down a bunch of low ball calls. For the past three years, I've taken off for vacation at the end of June through about the 10th of July, so I have nothing to base my current numbers on. I can say that July has kicked off better than June did.

Looking back at my numbers, I think I'm gonna start vacationing same as you Becca! But for now...

Only made 600 bucks so far this month.. one reason I'm took a PT job. Even with a good EOM it doesnt cover my bills.

OK, this is how to make the phone ring.......

I started the kitchen cabinets.. thinking 3-4 days at most... all the doors off for sanding , refinishing, plastiic all over the kitchen covering everything. sanding and refinishing eventually.... it has been 3 weeks... and still no time to finish yet... or you can just come on by and finish them............

Swamped in Citrus county, FL

I am and have been swamped here in Citrus county. On average, 3 to 7 calls a day. The first until now has been more like end of the month than beginning. Last month was busy at the first of the month and nothing at the end of the month. I am hoping it doesnt die down this month at the end!

Lucky you. We have had NOTHING here in lake, Sumter or Marion Counties. There are four of us here who all share and we have had nothing to share. I did three closings in June and they each did one. None of us have had anything for July. Talk about Slowwwwwwwwwwwwww!

I love doing this type of stuff... especially finding a great piece of wooden furniture that needs some tlc and you make it gorgeous...........


i have seriously thought of doing this for a business

and charles I use a palm sander that is FAST

What are you guys (er, gals) sanding with. My favorite tool to remove old finish is a cabinet scraper, they are so fast and get that old finish off in no time at all. A factory cut end of glass will do the same thing. Go to www.leevalley.com and take a look at cabinet scrapers.

Funny, All the doors are off my kitchen cabinets too, they are stripped and sanded just need to do the frames and hang a little crown molding I should be done by Christmas.
Oh and what a mess, good thing it is slow in Nor Cal.
