Tech Issue with HP LJ 3320 Scanner Function

I'm having a problem with my HP LaserJet 3320 scanner inserting a vertical line down the left side of any page scanned with the autofeed. The line doesn't show when I lay it on the flatbed, only on the autofeed & it doesn't do it on every page. Usually the first couple of pages are clean & then it seems to kick in after that. Does anyone have an idea what could be causing this? The scanner itself is about 5 years old...maybe it's just on its last legs. TIA.

I had the same problem on my 3390. A line down the page when it went thru auto feed but not on the flatbed, except it would happen everytime. It was caused by dust under the "auto doc. feed input tray". Take the tray off and wipe under the "hairs" that may solve it for you, clean it well, the first time I wiped it I didn't go under the "hairs" well enough, I did it a second time and it worked. Hope this helps.

Talk About a "Low Tech" Solution!

You are absolutely right on with your recommendation. I tried cleaning the glass under the autofeed yesterday, but like you I guess I didn't do a good enough job. After performing a more thorough cleaning just now, it works like a charm! Thank you, thank you, thank you!
