$50 signings? No way!

What's going on? For the last week we've been getting a lot of calls from various companies wanting us to do $50 signings (our minimum is considerably above that). We turn them down flat. No call backs, so somebody out there must be desperate. <g> ... but no notary in our firm is going to do $50 signings.

Doesn' t surprise me!.

I received a call yesterday at 5:33 to do a closing 25 miles away from my house at 6:30pm and the girl said "75.00 is ok" . I said no way, you requiere a bilingual notary, 15 fax backs and less than an hour...I said $125.00, she said 90.00 then agreed for $115.00. Here is the best part--She calls me 10 minutes later and said that the Tittle Co was sending its own agent.. Go figure!

My guess is they found someone to do it for 75.

Maybe later they will ask some one to redo this job. I don't think that an experienced SA will accept this for $$..... So many times I've redone $$.. jobs. A week ago I've done one. It was poor and unacceptable practice of one of our colleague. I do't want to mention his name because it will ruin his credibility and life. He let one of the borrowers to sign a loan with no personal appearance, misspelled last names, did not attach loose certificates(wording was not CA), in other words screw up the whole package. I want him to read this forum and stay away from this career, unless to make some considirations. Guess what? Who pays for those mistakes? Of course our clients!!
