Re: need Forms - Howard
People bring you documents, you don't provide them.
You are asking for things to provide people when what they need is a lawyer's input.
UPL.

Re: need Forms - Howard
Howard,
You are welcome.
It was just the way you worded your query sounded like you didn't know.
People who need these things IMHO generally don't want to pay anything over $6, and are the type who want you to do their work for them, pay for it, and then will turn on you when it doesn't work out. They will call asking for these things and be astounded that you won't provide it and still expect to be paid a travel fee.
Those forms are all somewhere on the internet...all you have to do is search and look.
When people call me for these things I never give them one but I will tell them if they do searches they can find something. I'll even print it for them, but I will NOT provide it for them and then take a notary fee.
Curious...since you are aware of this, Howard, do you intend to do UPL anyhow?

Brenda...
Hey Brenda,
I'd like to pick your brain a little... Is there ever a situation where you would be comfortable providing a copy of a form for a client? For example if they specifically ask for a certain form such as a consent to travel with a minor form or a copy certification by document custodian.... I don't have a problem providing either if asked. (At least up to this point) I always use the caveat; "this form is a general form which may or may not meet your needs, please consult the appropriate authorities to ensure this form meets all requirements before notarization."
The forms also have a similar caveat on the bottom....
I'm curious your what your opinion of this practice is....
