which signing agent training is better...
I realize this is probably a very biased question....is the training for signing agent offered through notary rotary better than NNA? The reason I ask is I noticed the NNA training mentions gettting a background check through LexisNexis and it would only be one time vs. several companies doing a background check on the individual. The price is much different. I've read some post here that lead to believe that NNA is not the organization I thought it was. I am a new notary and have applied for enotarization status in CO. According to NNA, there is a bundle to be made as a signing agent, but I'd really like to hear from the people who would know best - the notaries and signing agents themselves. Would anyone mind sharing with me how much money is realistic to expect in this industry? On signingregister.com, I noticed the term RSA. How is that different from signing agent and that the only place to obtain the certification of RSA? Is there a national test for this certification? Sorry for the questions, but I feel the proper research is vital to my decision to continue further or just remain a notary; not there is anything wrong with that. Thank you in advance for any information you can give.

Shannon - you are correct in doing your research in advance. There are numerous posts regarding NNA vs. Notary Rotary, fees, how business is going right now, and almost any other topic you can think to address at this time (or any other time). Let me point you to the orange search button and message 33325. Start there, reading thread through. Then, using search button again, or even just past month of postings here, looking at "are you slow?", equipment and so on. I feel sure that you will find these answers, and many other things you may have overlooked to come to reasonable decision(s) as to what you are expecting in return for your investment of time, energy and money. Good luck to you, and happy reading.

Hi Shannon - I'm sorry I can't speak for the NotRot training or BGC - but the XYZ Co. BGC is NOT a one-time deal - their BGC is only good for two years, as is their certification...
And just for your reference - I've yet to be asked if I've gotten the a BGC at all - I'm finding it's not one of the more urgent things the signing companies or title companies want to know - they're more concerned with can you get the job done accurately and do you know what you're doing..JMHO

I agree with Linda, all good points. I'm BGC cert., but have never been asked or questioned about it.
