Adobe 8

Does anyone know what the advantages of having Adobe 8 vs the 7 I've been using. I'm not the least bit conversant on the tech part of any programs.

It's easier to work with - eventually. I like it.

Eventurally? Is there a learning curve for just downloading docs? Can you explain further why I would want to update? Or just one of those things? TIA

v8 is faster. It handles printers with PCL6 drivers much better. It also handles the "image" files better.

Thanks for the info, Paul - guess I'll upgrade now

I was skipping V7 since it seemed to have so many problems. Sounds like they corrected those problems in the release of V8. Will I still need to uninstall my current version and do a clean install of V8?

Re: Thanks for the info, Paul - guess I'll upgrade now

I am not Paul... but v8 requires a clean install (reboot in btwn).... I was having a lot of prbs with V8 and did a search and found lots of hidden bits of prev ones ... cleaned those out, rebooted, dl v8 and worked perfectly every since....

i really like v8 ......

Re: Adobe 8.1??

I like Adobe 8 very much. What about the new 8.1 upgrade, Paul?

Re: Adobe 8.1??

Version 8.1 includes support for Vista, a new "Send to Kinko's" option on the File menu (I have no idea what that actually does, but it's probably not a great idea for loan docs), and some minor bug fixes. If you're not having problems with 8.0 you don't really need 8.1, but it won't hurt to upgrade.

Well, the screen is arranged far differently. If you're in a rush, it can mess you up. It doesn't take long to get the hang of it. I like it much better.

Re: Adobe 8...everytime I try to update my Adobe, it blows

up and will not install. States that it can not UNinstall a previous version. I go into my files...delete all known Adobe files and STILL can't update to version 8. I presently have 7.0.1 and guess i'll just leave well enuff alone

Well, you can reformat your hard drive and start over...

... or try this link for a less drastic approach:
