Brother printer problem - Help
Brother printer model MFC-8220. I'm getting an error message "Pls clean drum, clean corona wire of drum unit."
I've cleaned the drum (& slid blue thingy back & forth) and changed the drum & toner, cleaned the mirrors inside and unplugged and plugged back in. I called brother and they're not familiar with this error message. (?)
Before I replace this unit, I thought I would see if any of you have had this come up. TIA

Sorry I don't have a solution for your problem, but just for curiosity what's your page count?

Blueink, just a guess, with the toner door open....
hit the go button. I've heard this will reset the drum count.

Don't push it
Sound like a new fuser kit is needed. It's possible to clear/reset such error, but a defective fuser can cause the printer to caught fire. A fuser and a drum are two different components.

Re: Don't push it
Thanks all. I think it's time for a new printer. I'm looking at the Brother MFC8860N. Just my luck, the 2nd tray is not the same as the one for the 8220, so I'll have to buy that too. I have an LT5000 tray that I'll list on Ebay unless anyone here is interested. PM me with any questions.
