Brother question

I'm looking for a drum for the HL5250DNT. I saw one for $50-$60 a couple months ago but cannot find it again. I want to buy from an online store not e-bay. I don't want to pay $125+ for this. While I'm asking, does anyone out there using a 5250 get more than 5000 pages from the high yield (7000 page) TN580 toner. Has anybody been able to find a toner refill kit for this toner from an online store. The only place I have found it has been on e-bay, 10 for $99, a good buy but I am unsure about the vendor, and product.

Thanks, Larry

Hi Larry, I have a hl-5250dnt that I refill every month and I get almost 7K pages. I use tonerkits but I use the TN570 with no problems per advice of Jersey boy, My printer is more than 50K pages and still with the original drum. You don't need a new drum. Or are you getting bad "prints"with your current drum?

Just reset it, or clean it with a piece of cotton soaked with alcohol. Let me know how it turns out.

Use isopropyl alcohol...

I think that's the same as "rubbing alcohol", but check the ingredient label - should be about 90% isopropyl. Cheap and available in any pharmacy.

Thanks Cal, I asked these....

toner kit people specifically about using the TN570 refill for the TN580 cartridge and they said they didn't have anything for the TN580 but would soon after they wrote refill instructions. Hum, this has got to be the easiest refill ever, huge hole, easy removable plug. I will try the TN570 refill I have a ton of empties. I want to have a drum for whenever because I like this printer (I have three backups I don't like).

Thanks, Larry
