Can I switch Journals?......

Ok, so I think I know the answer to this, but I really value all of the feedback I get from here. I dont like the journal that I have and really want to use the modern journal but my question is, can I switch over... just as long as I keep the "old" journal? I dont see why I cant but I just want to make sure that I dont have to finish one, before I use another...sorry if this sounds like or is a dumb question, and please dont get on me to bad!!! TIA

this what the CA book says that is all i found.. but you might want to read it and see what else you find

"NOTARY PUBLIC JOURNAL
A notary public is required to keep one active sequential journal at a time of all acts performed
as a notary public. The journal must be kept in a locked and secured area (such as a lock box
or locked desk drawer), under the direct and exclusive control of the notary public. The journal
shall include the items shown below. (Government Code section 8206(a))"

not necessarilly stuck

it says you have to have one "active" journal. It doesn't say you have to fill the journal.
So "deactivate" your old journal by putting some kind of notation that this journal was retired on such and such a date.

Viola!

Yes, that is the approach we recommend. Simply notate in the first journal that it is being retired and move on to a new one. No big deal.

all sequential means is you go line by line, page by page

and not skip around... it does not say you cannot end a journal and start a new one... just that you can have only ONE active journal.............

Re: not necessarilly stuck

I've already been using a second Modern Jornal. It is the best I've ever seen. No alternatives. I mean the simplicity and quality. The same I can say about the seal. I have two seals from different sourses but I love to use Rotary's. Thanks Harry for all your efforts to comfort our difficult and stressful job.

I switched

You just can't switch back an forth. When I got my first MoJo, I was half way thru my "regular type" journal. The thrifty part of me didn't want to waste the rest of the journal, BUT the time you save is sooo worth it. I'll never go back!

You can retire your current journal any time you want. Just as long as it stays retired.
