Why would you ask a question, IF you haven't bothered to read this board first? IF you have been reading you would see that this has been asked over and over again. Do your homework. If you want to be self employed, act like it. Too many have employee mentality. Get over it and act like your own boss. Some things aren't hard to figure out for yourself. You just may have to do a little bit of your own work.
Good Luck!

Cherie Everyone should make their own do not pay list based on their personal experience. While one signing agent may have had a problem getting paid from a company, others may not. Check the companies out by searching on this message board.
There was a "Hall of Shame" list started on the old NASA message board around 2000 or 2001. The list grew, but I had no problems with some of the companies on the list. Unless a company has a bad reputation, which you will no doubt have heard about on this board - SOX for example, I would be inclined to give them a chance. Set a "credit limit" of maybe three signings in the month and see how they pay. Do not accept any more work from them until they have proven they do pay to your satisfaction.
