EFAX...... ANYBODY??

I have had numerous problems with RapidFax..... do any of you use an efax service and do you have continued "failed" faxes? Ex. I fax, it fails stating it's a "distant fax (whatever that means) or disconnected early".......then I call the number and the receiver's fax response "fine?"...... I try to refax and I get the same message from rapid fax.....ARRRRRHHHH.... I hate technology when I'm not loving it !!!!

(BTW, I emailed them and got a "robot" reply..... they will respond w/in 48 hrs.... good thing I'm not faxing for funding....yikes!!)

WOW !!! I'm paying 9.95 to rapidfax (not much difference except ytd)..... do you have an 800 number and/or is it extra for an 800 number?...... I guess it really should not matter to me if it's toll free for the sender,,, just thought it would be a + service for any incoming. Thanks!

I use myfax and have no problems at all. It is on $10.00 per month and that give you so many faxes in and so many faxes out. I have never gone over.

Re: K7.net : I checked it out... and it is for

incoming faxes ONLY and only uses 206 area code so unless you are in that area all incoming faxes will be toll or long distance charges to the sender...

there is no faxing out unless you pay 10 cents/min thru their suggested service...

Big deal, I bet less then half of us have toll free #'s,

for our incoming calls (the ones that matter) Plus these people call over the country anyway so what's the big deal with dialing 206 rather then 828?

Re: Big deal, I bet less then half of us have toll free #'s,

PL, I agree. I used to keep a toll free number but as things have evolved I have re-thought that. My fax I keep as a toll free just b/c I already have it...$10 a month. BTW I have 3000 min w/ tmobile for Texas and OK, LA, NM and it's $49.95. For LD I use a calling card. Works great for me.

I have an Efax number

Should I get rid of my stand alone fax machine to send back faxes to companies ?

Local or 800# for less than $8/mo.

I now use both toll free phone & fax number through Costco business services.

Toll free phone number at $2.5/mo (include 60 minutes +4.5cent after)
Toll free fax at $7.50/mo (325 in & 5cent/pg out)

Re: I have an Efax number

Joan, I have my printer that does it all, print, fax, scan, copy. Thats what I use for everything, then I also have a backup laser printer, and a backup ink jet fax, scan copy printer that the kids use. I have tried to cover all bases in case on goes out. All are Brother, and all use the same toner and drum. The inkjet is Lexmark. Not so great but for the kida anyway.

Re: I have an Efax number

Joan, I switched to Maxmail for my incoming faxes, and got rid of my FAX number. I fax out with a Brother AIO on my regular phone which has unlimited calls, so my phone and DSL costs about $85 a month. Saved $23 a month and I can control when the outbound faxes go. Inbound are all in pdf format by email. Costs 9.95 a month. I figure if the TC/SS can call me for jobs, they can pay for the FAXs they send also.
