Expanding my area
I have been a signing agent since December 2006 and I am interested in working full time or as close to it as possible. I would like to be available for signings in the surrounding counties, but I'm not sure how to make this known. I've sent out flyers, but really, most of my calls come from signing services who locate me here on NotaryRotary or at the NNA site. Can anyone recommend a way to get my profile to come up in searches for other counties? Do I need to create a profile with an address in the surrounding counties? I live in a very small county and there really aren't many signings avaialble, however, the neighboring county is huge and there is quite a bit of work there....if only they could find me! Any suggestions?

update your profile expanding your counties and when you get a call for a signing, tell them that you are covering a larger area now.

Unfortunately, you are in an over saturated area when it comes to notaries. You need to do something to set yourself apart. Do a search on this site for marketing ideas and read msg #33325. Let the SS and TC you have worked for in the past that you will cover the county you have in mind. Look up TC's that have local offices in the county you want to work in and make a personal appearance, outline your services and drop off a few business cards. Keep it short, they are busy. Also, check with the mortgage department in a few of your local banks, drop off a few cards. They do have notaries on site, but sometimes they need help for their overflow .. Good Luck.
