Re: Has anyone had a problem getting paid by - YES!!!
If SE Settlement means Southeastern Settlements in West Columbia, SC, then YES!!!!! They are at 60 days owing payment to me. Over the last couple of weeks I have called numerous times, e-mailed, and faxed. Owner/Scheduler/Operations Manager Rick Edmond is never in when I call, does not have voice mail, and never responds to my messages left with the guy who answers the phone! Of course, according to the guy who answers the phone, Rick is the only one who can handle payments to notaries!
After looking this company up on the SC SOC website, I have found that they are brand new, becoming an LLC in May 2007. I did finally manage to call yesterday when Rick was in, and he acted like he didn't know he owed me any money, didn't have my address, asked me to fax him an invoice (I asked him what happened to the copies I had already e-mailed and faxed him???), so my take is that this company is extremely disorganized since they can't keep their accounts payable straight.
IF I receive payment as Rick promised I will post that, but one should not have to go through all this to be paid. Companies with integrity do not operate this way. I did look them up on NotRot when they called me for the job, but there was nothing on them since they were new. What a way to start a business! If there was some sort of problem on his end, the least Rick could have done was respond to my numerous attempts to contact him. They are on my no-no list!
