Mild rant...

How come we have to provide tracking numbers when we ship the docs back, but aren't provided tracking numbers when the docs are being sent O/N?

I have a signing early Monday morning, was told the docs would be here today. No docs, nobody knows where they are, and the guy who was supposed to send them out yesterday isn't answer

Re: Mild rant... oops

Hit the wrong key -

the guy who was supposed to send them out isn't answering his phone. SS is trying to find out what happened - we don't know if they're lost, never sent, sent to the wrong address, whatever.

Just aggravated, because I think this is going to screw up my schedule on Monday and/or Tuesday... Does it make sense to turn the tables and require a tracking number for O/N docs?

Investors, lender management, title management, etc. expect the closer or his/her assistants (at the title company) to be responsible for the documents. Therefore they need to know and be able to track the packages. They do not look to the notary signing agent as needing to know, though I agree it would be nice to allow us to track the docs as well. You know when your delivery times are and if the package isn't there, it isn't your responsibility to find out why. It is the title company's responsibility though.

Ohh dear, I could go on about this, but I won't.

I'm too exhausted from a 1 1/2 hour HELOC I did tonight for some really nice folks that refused to call th LO because he was @ the mouse house for the weekend. God bless 'em, but they were pretty green to this whole event. The LO did a good job, but in the end, the brws just needed more than I could professionally give. TG, it ended well.

I'm with you, Mike. WTH not?

Can't answer that question. I had docs sent to the wrong Zip last week. Good thing I had a feeling about them and contacted someone the day b4 i needed them. Through all of the searching they never gave me the tracking no....

I ask for the # to be emailed to me . I live in the sticks and none of the carriers are required to be here at anytime regardless of the box the sender checks. I like to just be proactive and be able to check on it myself. I can't tell you how many closings have gone from o/n to edocs because of it.
Don't get mad, just ask for it .Smile

Docs showed up yesterday - Saturday delivery with a different carrier. I guess someone just "forgot" to send them o/n on Thursday....
