We were on Semoran Blvd - around Lake Underhill area - earlier in the year and we hardly recognised it. Thought we had wandered into a different country - and we didn't have our passports with us!

I would happily tutor someone in English

and at the same time I would benefit by learning a bit of the other person's language. It is absolutely essential that persons who live and work here learn English, the common language of this country, and I think those who intend to stay here do that for the most part. Unfortunately some immigrants refuse to grasp that they must become part of the culture where they chose to move, not that the culture must change to become the same as the country they left. English is not an easy language, especially American English because we use so many colloquialisms and slang expressions, but if I moved to France or Germany or the Netherlands or Spain, I would surely need to learn the common language of that country ASAP. We cannot accommodate every single lanuage of every single immigrant, so it is up to the person moving here to become adapted as quickly as he or she can.

Re: sorry here's the link

I am so sick of showing up to people's houses (who have been here for decades) and they say, (in English) "Why don't you speak Spainish?". I get so upset. I want to yell, "Why the hell don't you speak English?!". If a mobile notary came to my house in Mexico, do you think they would send an English speaking one? My grandparents learned English when they came here from Denmark, and they can do the same. And my grandparents didn't get on the dole either.

So far the people have prevailed

Again today the Senate voted No on Closure to the ILLEGAL alien Amnesty bill. All because we (Americans) spoke up very vocally and kept the pressure on them that we did not want 12 - 20 million more mostly poorly educated people automatically becoming eligible for even more FREE government handouts (only free for them, WE on the other hand would pay dearly).
