Summer Vacation plans
Who is doing what and going where? We are staying local this year and it will almost be free..lol Since the first week of July has been always dead since I started the business we always take that time to do something big for the summer.
We are off from 6/28-7/6 and will be @ Harrahs Atlantic City. We have a comped suite for the week and few free meals. Just means I spend to much time in Atlantic City and Las Vegas (4 times in Vegas alone in the last year)

This year our youngest graduates next week so I am taking a week off with relatives coming in, etc. My hubby started a new job with a major hotel and starting next year we get free vacation stay at any of them in the world! We are thinking either Paris or Italy.

I am going to Atlantic City next weekend and staying at the Borgata. True Colors (Cyndi Lauper, Debbie Harry, Erasure .......HELLO000 80's) concert on Friday night and STEVIE NICKS on Saturday night. Woooo hoooo.
Then weekend after that, going to Tennessee for 5 days to see friends.
In August, we will go to Kings Dominion for a 3 day weekend. We always go to Orlando, FL and visit Universal Studios for 5 days in January. It is a slow period yet still warm in Florida.
I thiink I am going to stay closer to home from now on as far as vacations go because of gas prices.

If you do your research you can find great deals.. We almost booked flights to vegas for next week 140 round trip air fares, but the hotel rates were to much.
Borgata is a great place, try the buffet its the best in Atlantic City it runs about 30-35/person but they have steak and lobster on the weekend.

I travel with my brother once a year and watch him spend all of his money at the tables in about 30 minutes. I only pay for food, the hotel loves it when he comes so the room is free. I have been to the buffet there and it is good. We even tried salsa dancing at a restaurant near there.

We always rent a rustic cabin for a week and fish and hike - this year we are getting a cabin for a week in NY near Cayuga lake and hope to catch a ton of trout. My father-in-law just purchased a boat for the lake as he only lives 2 miles from it.

Hubby and I are headed to Vegas on the 29th of June, staying three nights at the Wynn and celebrating our anniversary. Daughter and boyfriend will be flying in from SF and will be joining us. Have made reservations to see Cirque du Soleil (KA). Flying out Monday afternoon to KC and will be joining family at the Lake of the Ozarks. Gambling, eating and drinking, letting loose. Yee, Ha!

In mid-Sept we will board a train in North San Diego County headed to Toronto, Canada. From there we will take a train across Canada to Vancouver, then another train back to North San Diego County. No driving.

Our vacations always seem to be the last week of the month.....talk about one way to ruin your business! We are taking a road trip the end of June to Maine and Cape Cod. Then the end of August we are taking our 2 college break daughters to Lake Tahoe for a week. We absolutely love it there!

Lady Rouge (she of the Red Hat) and I go to the Scottish Festival in Quechee, VT in August each year. It's cooler than southeastern CT, and we have a great time.
