Top Tier Closing Solutions

Hello everyone -
My name is David Cox, President of Top Tier Closing Solutions. After being asked by a few of you, and reading some comments, I would like to take this opportunity to provide some information about myself and my company.

I was formerly employed by a title company some of you may have worked with or heard of - Title Stream LLC d.b.a. TS National Closing Solutions. As the Scheduling Manager at TS NCS/Title Stream, I oversaw all scheduling and closing operations. I had the opportunity to work with many of you, and develop many positive long-standing relationships.

Unfortunately, I had no control over when signing agents were paid - although I was the primary contact for all agents, executive management and the accounting department at Title Stream had sole control of all notary payments, when they were made, and who was paid. Eventually, despite my personal efforts (I believe there are many on this board I tried to get payments expedited for), Title Stream as a company developed a bad reputation for not paying notaries. The situation was frustrating and, for obvious reasons, made my work difficult. It was hard to watch good, hard-working notaries wait up to 5-6 months for payments, and even more frustrating not being able to do anything about it.

Eventually, through my exposure and long experience with Title Stream, I realized that many had come to associate my name with a company that did not pay their notaries. I was not happy with that, at all. So I left.

I began an independent company, Top Tier Closing Solutions. We are not affiliated with or related to Title Stream or any of their business practices in any way. In fact, one of my foremost desires with Top Tier is making sure our agents are treated with respect and paid in a timely manner. I know how important this is to you as a signing agent.

Likewise, I hope that you will be able to seperate my name and Top Tier from the payment issues of Title Stream.

I hope this helps to answer some questions. Again, I do not work for Title Stream and am not involved with them, so I cannot help you with any problems you may have with that company. If you would like more information about Top Tier or have any questions, please contact me at [e-mail address]. For those that I have worked with in the past, I hope to have the opportunity to do so again.

Sincerely,

David Cox

If you search your name and or company name, you will find some posts that complain about your payment practices as Top Tier, as well as TS-NCS.
You may want to begin by addressing those complaints of slow pay.

Having done "search" on your company, I am struck by the fact that you omitted to include your address, phone numbers and other pertinent information. Being honest and straight-forward means giving as much info about yourself and your company as we are expected, and willingly comply, to give. Elsewise, we tend to think you have: 1. something to hide 2. want to run when the s.... hits the fan, and 3. all kinds of odd, unkind thoughts.

David, Thanks for making it clear that you are the David Cox from Title Stream. I am glad to hear from you.

I will say this about David: As a scheduler he paid me a fair amount of money for reverse mortgages and when I contacted him about a payment he would contact accounts payable on my behalf and then send me an email to follow up and let me know that he had done that. (I often tried to contact AP first before bothering David with it, but they ignored me for the most part...didn't return emails or phone calls.)

Sometimes David would send me another email to let me know that the check was going out on ___ date and it always came as promised if David followed up on it for me and said it was going out.

In my personal experience David has not been dishonest with me. Therefore, if David Cox calls me for a job in my area which I can do after 5 pm or on a weekend, and if he and I agree on a price I will definitely take signing appointments from him.

I have had several phone conversations with David and I feel he respects us and I do feel that he should not be associated with Title Stream who is notorious for paying notaries slowly now that he has his own business.

Brenda, I agree with everything you said. David has always been upfront with me regarding payment issues and always paid a fair fee. I will gladly accept signings from his new company. Maybe it's just my optimistic attitude and a great deal of luck, but I have been paid for every single job I've done as an NSA for the past 5 years.

I'm not crazy about Titlestream's payment methods, but it's business and I figure as long as I know upfront what I'm dealing with (and I know TS is going to be 60 - 75 days), then it's a business decision that I have made to accept those terms. I don't even start checking with them until the job is 60 days out. No sense in the stress. If your business is unable to wait that long for payment, then don't accept the job...fill that slot with another signing or decide if it's better for you to stay home instead.

Back to David...good luck! The key to success is good communication in good times and bad and you've always been a good communicator.

David, glad to hear you have gone out on your own. I always appreciated your efforts to get me paid - and you never failed. Hope to work with you again when you have a need for a closer in Lake, Sumter or Marion Counties, Florida.

When Title Stream owed me money, David Cox did not respond to my inquiries in any way. His message has an eerily familiar ring to it - check out the infamous Msg #112015 from Christopher McLucas, the COO of Title Stream. Mr. McLucas sounded sincere, but he was selling us a line of stuff with that message.

Mr. Cox, your new company already has two negative posts about late payment, and if called I would have to decline any jobs from Top Tier until I see some positive payment posts. I'm glad that other notaries had a more positive experience with you while you were with Title Stream.
