Transcontinental Title, Clearwater FL

I searched the forum for information on this company and the last info was from 11/06. Has anyone had experience since with this company?

They called me yesterday for a signing at 5pm, sent me the confirmation and never sent the E-docs. I called and lm, no return call so I emailed them , twice, no response.

In the meantime I did lm for borrower who returned my call 15 minutes before I had to leave to travel to his house and he said he couldn't do the time I was confirming. (didn't really matter to me, I didn't have his docs).

I called TT four times and they would pick up the phone and hang up! This was during regular bus hrs. I then left a message on the after hours # that was given on the cover page. TT then called me last night 2 1/2 hours after the appt was scheduled and said she was just notified that the signer couldn't do the time. I told her about the emails, docs, hang ups, etc and she said, "can you do this tomorrow at the same time?" I said no, I already used up my time today. If he can make it at a later time then we can talk again. She never called back!

I am new at this but I don't have time for games! Has anyone else had this experience?

Hi Dolly, I have worked with Transcontinental many times and have never experienced that from anyone there. As a matter of fact, they have always been punctual, and always reachable for me. I really enjoy working with them and they pay within 10 days. This does not sound like them to me. I would work for them anytime, Maureen.

TT has always been a repeat client for me. I get paid on time every time. I enjoy hearing from them because I always know I will be paid for my time promptly. Are you sure it was TT and not another company similar?

I have not had a problem with them and they pay in a timely manner. It does seem to be a very fast-pace office and docs were once rec'd at the very last minute but I had to consider the lender on that closing........ you may not want to write them off.

I've never had the experience you've described. Although their packages are huge (as a rule), I've always had docs when they were supposed to be to me & they pay quickly. I've also always had good communication from them.

Thank you all for the feedback, I won't write them off just yet... Like I said, I have only been doing this a few weeks and wasn't sure how organized the company's really are or aren't.

Thank you again...

You might want to reconsider

Welcome to the world of mobile loan signings. One must be able to roll with the punches in this business because little of it is cut and dried. Much more so with O/N docs, but sometimes even they mess up. Last night I had a signing for O/N docs from a very good title company that I work for -- easy, fairly small, straight forward. Found out that they had NOT included the HUD and had to have it emailed to complete the signing.

If you've only been doing this for a few weeks it is highly unlikely that you are ready to deal directly with title companies. The are very UNFORGIVING! After only a few weeks it is highly unlikely that you have the experience to even be trying to sign up directly with title companies. Because once you're on their black list you stay on it. My advice would be to get at least 100 signings under your belt (and that's really not even close to the experience you'll need) before you try to sign with title companies. Title companies EXPECT their closers to know what they're doing. Just trying to save you some headaches and lots of frustration.

Re: You might want to reconsider

Dorothy knows what she is talking about and I couldn't agree more.

"I am new at this but I don't have time for games!"

I've had some similar issues with them, but they are a very big company and this kind of thing is inevitable to some degree; the bigger they get, the more likely. Problems like these -- and others -- occur on a daily basis in our business. Successfully dealing with them is what makes us worth our money - especially if we are making a decent fee. If this bothers you, you many want to find another line of work. Please read this as sincere advice, not sarcasm. (This work isn't for everyone.)
