What to do with my expired notary stamp....
Hello,
Can anyone give me some suggestions on how to dispose of my stamp? or if I should just keep it?

I separate the rubber from the "holder"and I cut it up. Or you can take a razor blade to destroy it. But definitely destroy it.

When the notary public commission is no longer valid, the notary public seal must be destroyed to protect the notary public from possible fraudulent use by another. (Government Code section 8207)

Re: Page 7 of Ca Notary Handbook
I took the blade of a sharp scissors to my old seal and scraped off enough of the rubber so that it could no longer make an impression that looked like anything. I think I pretty much took everything off of it, in little pieces. It wasn't very hard to do, as I recall.

So far, I have crushed 2 under the left front tire of my car.. I am hoping one day to be able to fry one with the jet wash from my hydrogen powered space car.

Thank you everyone for your reply. I attempted to cut up the stamp and managed to get ink all over my newly manicured nails...errr! next time I'll use gloves and then I like the idea of crushing it under my tires, that should do the job.
