!!! Warning -- DO NOT SIGN FOR THIS COMPANY !!!

ESCROW SIGNING SERVICES, INC. -- ESSNETWORK.COM (out of CALIFORNIA) WILL NOT PAY ME!!!
I did a signing for this Co. and they refuse to pay me. When I spoke with "Nathon D. Tran" this half-wit tried to put the blame on the Titile Co. I had already spoke with the TC and was informed that the loan funded and everyone was paid. When I threatned him, all he could muster up (in that dim-witted mind of his) was that his Company is owned by a firm in CANADA. WHY THE HELL IS ANY AMERICAN NOTARY WORKING FOR A CO. IN CANADA. It is my recommendation that anyone in our industry should NOT do business with this company.

It used to be an occasional occurence

that bad ss's or slow pay title companies were reported here.

Now there's one or more bad companies reported daily.

A lot of times people don't post how deep a company has gotten into them b/c they don't want to appear completely stupid for taking the assignments even after they have seen signs of slow pay...however, this is what's going on more than we realize. Well...that's based on emails to me regarding the crooks out there.

Reminds me of reports of some of the "vets" who got stiffed by a certain company for hundreds or up to a thousand or more dollars a few years ago.

I am thankful no one ever got to me and now I am completely down to working only for a couple of title companies on a regular basis.

Re: Trust me, Brenda, judging from some of the posts

I've seen recently your little slip is nothing. Some of them have me thinking a 10-year-old wrote them instead of an adult so-called "professional".

And I apologize in advance for offending anyone - I do't mean to hurt anyone but bad spelling and grammar are a pet peeve of mine, and I've recently seen an abundance of it on this board and elsewhere.

Blah blah blah

Will you ever stop acting like a baby? Stop acting as though everyone thinks they're perfect, because no one is. The fact of the matter is that your posts are full of misspellings and incorrect grammar. If you don't like someone pointing that out (not to mention she didn't even point you out), fix it. That's all there is to it.

My pet peeves

Starting sentences with lower case letters, not capitalizing proper nouns, nor the pronoun I and the misuse of There, Their and They're. Really about 4th grade English!!

Re: My pet peeves

A sign of an uneducation person is the use of incorrect or improper use of grammar. We are NEVER out of English class -- it is the language of this country (and the official business language of the world). Now if you don't mind having everyone know that you don't give a rats a$$ about appearance or attention to detail (in a detail oriented business) just continue posting in this vein. A famous saying, "Better to keep silent and have others think you are stupid than to open your mouth and remove all doubt."

Not to pick nits, but...

<<A sign of an uneducation person is the use of incorrect or improper use of grammar.>>

What exactly is an "uneducation person"? And should we condemn him for lapses in grammar while we forgive him for the sin of making up new words?

<<Now if you don't mind having everyone know that you don't give a rats a$$ about appearance>>

Here we either have an unknown number of rats sharing a single a$$, or someone who forgot an apostrophe while in the midst of lecturing others on the necessity of paying attention to detail and the proper use of grammar...

I'm not trying to be a wise-a$$, but no one is perfect - you've just proven that point. I like to think I have a pretty good grasp of grammar and spelling, but I know I've made mistakes in some of my posts (maybe including this one) and I will undoubtedly continue to do so in the future. Does that mean I don't pay attention to detail when I'm doing my job? We're in an informal forum here - typos, bad grammar, and the occasional incoherent rant are to be expected - none of that necessarily reflects on whether the poster knows what he or she is doing, or whether he or she can project a professional image.

It's the old "he who lives in a glass house" routine - don't critique what others write unless you're willing to to be critiqued in return.

Good catch - and I especially liked this one (assuming it wasn't a typo from whoever posted the wiki):

Hartman's Law of Prescriptivist Retaliation (Jed Hartman, April 1998): "Any article or statement about correct grammar, punctuation, or spelling is bound to contain at least one eror."

But it doesn't matter if it's 4th grade English, not everyone is perfect! Sure, Phil Spector blew a hole in Lana Clarkson's head, but he's not perfect. Why is Paris Hilton in jail, do you drive perfect every time you get in the car?

I can't believe Sandi is STILL breaking out that line in here. Nobody in here is perfect, but some of us are definitely dumbasses.

I agree about the spelling and grammar...pet peeve of mine too. It's no wonder there are so many errors on loan documents.

People make all kinds of spelling and grammatical errors on this forum and then brag that they've done hundreds of 'error free' loans. I would think that if you're sloppy in one area, you'd be sloppy in another.

Maybe posters are just in a hurry and too lazy to correct what they type???

Re: <<sigh>>..I see it won't end

It wasn't a "shot" - it was a statement of fact - read some past posts and you'll see for yourself - there are inadvertent typos and and then there are others - posts where you need an interpreter to figure out what the person is saying because the spelling and grammar is so bad. Statement of fact - if that bothers you, so be it. I'm done with this - and I think it's been drawn our long enough.

Re: Correction...drawn "out"

At risk of joining a fray I'd rather stay out of, your error was clearly an example of a typo vs. an error of spelling and/or grammar - and a great example of how easy it is to tell the difference. We are all guilty of that from time to time and it's no big deal.

BTW, as I chuckle to myself, while typing the above, I wrote "type" vs. "typo" the first time above. ;>Wink Fortunately, I edit my work, 'cause I'm sometimes a pretty so so typist. (I've already made a gazillion corrections...) I'd like to think that taking the little extra time to do this (to at least make sure it is readable - not necessarily perfect) is an example of attention to detail. Hiring parties may not all read this forum, but habits carry over. If someone is sloppy here, others might conclude that they will be sloppy in other areas of work. That's how it IS relevant, imho. It also shows that you care about how you present yourself - also relevant to our business.

Agree Janet. I type, then proofread all the time. It is the little things that get on pet peeves lists. Many times the eye corrects as we read and we don't notice some errors, others are so noticable that we cringe and shudder.

If I'm correct (as long as we're being rediculously nit picky - and just in the name of good fun...) the actual subject is "it", not "spelling and grammar", so "is" should be correct. This was the one, you just caught me, along with couple others, with my own typos. Since can't spell check here, quick proofing inadequate as we have all seen. I'm game for any constructive criticism anytime - how else will I develop my skills? I figure it all is meant to keep me sharp or sharpen me, not malicious. I'm old, there are worse things to happen to me. Grammar (hah! - got it right!) was never my best suit. Now spades or hearts...
