this may be silly I am doing my first signing today and not worried about anything except the proper way to fill out my journal for the fees there is one signer do i write in there edocs,travel... and then the full amount? please help the new one if you can,this is my biggest concern

it is a NOTARY register, not a SIGNING register. Only notary info belongs in there. I keep all other info on my confirmation sheet.

thanks sue so you just put in the fee for the signer and the document signed and keep the signing fee seperate? thanks so much

Just the state allowed notary fee.

I personally do only what the state requires - nothing more, nothing less. I never put the document type, only the type of act. Again, if there is something special I want to make a note about (say some funky type document) , I put it on my confirmation for my personal reference.

About the signing fee, that needs to be recorded in another set of books - your register shows what you've done as a notary only.

I list the name or type of each document in my comments section in my journal.
