return shipping UPS
Shipping companies vary (in regards to good service) in different parts of the country. Well, since the hurricanes in Louisiana - btw, the HUB for UPS is New Orleans, LA - and I am in a rural area on the other side of the state ------------ there is no SAME DAY PICKUP - no guaranteed drop box within 30 miles - no guarantee that the driver will arrive on a scheduled pickup - there is a closet size shipping place that sends packages when they are good and ready, so good luck. jeeeezzzz. IT leaves me thinking that no one here understands the meaning of overnite express envelope. You try to make them understand and their response is "Well, UPS doesn't require us to scan them". Whatever in the bleep that means! GIVE ME FEDEX OR GIVE ME DEATH! thanks for letting me vent.

Also in Louisiana but in Baton Rouge: there is NO UPS in Baton Rouge. If we are unable to drop the docs in a store or with a driver here, we must drive to Port Allen, across the river in another parish (county for everyone else). It is at least 45 minutes each way to do this. I too prefer Fed Ex. Simple, convenient, and for me, much more reliable.

Can't you call for pick up - or won't they pick up either?

I live in an urban area where we have UPS everywhere. But if they come to your house on a Saturday to deliver, and you HAND them a package, they throw up their hands and say, "I'm sorry, we don't do pick ups on Saturday". Fed Ex does have goofy-colored uniforms, (so you never see them in the movies), but their service is a lot better. And what's up with that huge tracking number that UPS needs?

I lived in New Orleans until Katrina and then lived in Baton rouge for 3 wks. There is a store at 9655 Perkins Road, I won't say the name as I don't know if it would be construed as advertising, but they do UPS and FedEx and accept drop offs. On UPS they will give you a receipt after they scan your envelope. Hope this helps.
