Abstractors: Summarize pertinent legal or insurance details or sections of statutes or case law from reference books for purpose of examination, proof, or ready reference. Search out titles to determine if title deed is correct.

No disrespect to any one but I think that everyone that closes a loan should know what an abstractor is. They are on the hud, line 1102.

Title searchers. They're the ones who research the public records to determine whether a seller has clear title to a property. An abstract of title is a chronological summary of the title chain - mortgages, liens, judgments, tax liens, etc.

You are fishing in the wrong pond, Ashlie. Although there may be a few abstractors poking around here, this is a board for notaries public, hence the name "Notary Rotary". Try Source of Title. Tell 'em I sent ya.
