Another closing bites the dust...

Can someone please explain the current loan officers. 1.) How do you setup a closing for a customer, without first notifying them? 2.) How do you not go over the final numbers wih the customer, before you attempt to close the loan (ex. Providing a copy of the HUD). I used to be a loan officer when I lived in IL, and I never had a closing fall apart, because before we said go, the customer new what they were signing there life away too....

To me that is the biggest issue at the closing table: unprepared brws.
When confirming, if they mention they know nothing about it, I contact title right away, and let them know. Like me, they want the loan to fund, so we all get paid, and normally they get on the horn to motivate the broker to finish the job.
If it is not an assignment that I will confirm personally, the brws might mention they have not spoken to their LO in ??? days. That is when I excuse myself and notify title.
I let them handle the irresponsible LO.
That really ticks me off when they fail to perform (what I consider) one of the most important part of their jobs.

Re: that senerio is popping up all over down here these days

had a signing recently where the borrows were told by the LO that I would explain everything in the docs to them
Now when I confirm appointment with borrowers I ask if Lo has done their job in explaining docs to them!
