Anyone else slow?
This is the slowest period right now. Anyone else experiencing that? Will it pick back up? I got an email from EFS yesterday saying they expect to be busy from mid month to EOM this month. Anyone else get that?

Yes, but it's early in the month
Like everyone else, I expect things will settle down a bit in another week or so. People will still need to borrow and refinance. There will be fewer of the shaky loans, but I don't do that many of those anyway since in my experience the low-ball signing agencies and title companies are the ones parcelling out those assignments. My fees are my fees, they're fair and reasonable, and I stick to them.

This is the slowest I've ever been and a lot is due to turning down all the low paying offers. I would rather pass on these. These companies always find someone who is willing to take $50-75 dollars to travel 100 miles round trip.

This is also the slowest period I've ever experienced in three years of doing loan signings.
I'm hoping EOM will make up for the last few weeks.

I've been getting calls not as much as usual but mostly for closings during the day when I'm working or too far away.

So far so good this month. Seemed like February was very slow for me.

Jan started slow but it's picking back up in SW IN. I have averaged 10+ closings per week in Feb and March.

Could be better
I think with a drop in long term interest rates the EOM and April should be better. (I hope) I have 4 appointments today (mid month close date) Next week should be slow.

start by reading message # 33325. Read the board from start to finish, ask questions when you have utilized the search feature and cannot find the answer to your query. BTW, this is not the best of times to start as an NSA: many areas are oversaturated as is, and the amount of loans has decreased simultaneously. That doesn't mean it can't be done, but you most definately should have some essential knowlege before striking out.

I won't give money amounts
Avg good month - 90-110 closings Slow month - 65-75 closing
Anything below 65/month is a bad month for my company. 2007 has followed the same pace for the last 2 years. If history repeats April, May and June should be good and then the summer slow down and the fall big finish.

Those figures are for a mulitple NSA office. I would say a good month 40+ closings for a one person office.

Re: ME
My wife helps out when I'm loaded, plus its great when your spouse can do it too. Companies love it.
3/4's of my monthly signings come from 3 major clients, I had a 2 sub prime TC that gave me tons of work 2 years ago, now I'm lucky if I do 3-5 month from each one.
Its hard work maintaining the same level of business when you know the industry has been down for a few months and looks to stay that way for another year or so.
