Brother MFC 8860 Weird noise
Everytime I fill up tray 1 with letter paper, the printer makes this weird clicking noise and says I have a paper jam. I then open the tray and of course there is no paper jam. The only way to make the noise go away is take the paper out and only leave about 20 sheets in. Has anyone else had this problem. Do I need to switch and put legal in tray 1 and letter in tray 2? Any help would be greatly appreciated since I have been on hold with customer service for an hour.

Check to make sure the tabs inside the paper trays are set to the proper size. Sometimes they can get moved when the tray is reloaded with paper ...
Also, is your printer clean?

Do you smell a slight burning smell? The fuser (sp??) just went out on my MFC 8860DN. I ran a laser printer cleaning sheet through it and it did better for about 10 sheets then it started back up and the burning smell worsened. It now makes a horrible noise. They warranty tech person seemed familar with the problem when I spoke to them.

Sorry for late reply, just got back home. I will check the tabs. I have only had the printer for about a month. Do you think it already needs to be cleaned?
