I went to the conference in Las Vegas back in 2005. I try to get to Vegas at least once per year and thought the conference would be a good opportunity. Boy was I wrong! What a waste of time and money. The food even sucked.
If you enjoy $700.00 canvas book bags and misinformed speakers (VR), you'll have a great time. I you think you'll meet industry vendors; you won't...maybe two or three at the most all of whom strictly abide by the standards set by an organization that is supposedly on your side?. (If the standard is $50 you are not on our side.) If you get great joy out of listening to a priest pedophile advocate preach the gospel, go ahead and go. If you have friends to visit in LA and can take the tax write-off, go for it. Just don't have very high expectations that way you will be less disappointed.
Personally, I'll never go again even if it is in Vegas.

I agree a HUGE waste of time.
I also went to one of the conferences. It was 2004, I think, in Pennsylvania. I went mostly to meet vendors. Not even worth that. Becca is right. Thank God it was close to New York City and Atlantic City. My friend and I ditched the conference and had a great time in those places. Seriously the workshops were so lame! I was shocked and very disappointed! Only good for a tax write-off.
