One past due for me as well... signed on 1/31. No response to emails or fax invoices. Sorry to have to report this but it is indeed a fact...

I haven't been paid for a job completed on January 13, 2007. I called to request payment, but, can only leave a voice mail. This is not a good sign. Does anyone know how we can get in touch with a live person?

FWIW - I received an odd call from DAC last week--I think

Long story short, if DAC is in Richmond, VA, and M. David Spear and Debbie Proctor are connected with DAC, then I received a call from DAC last week. There were several odd things about the circumstances of the call, but the most peculiar was that Debbie did not identify the SS she was working for, and when I asked, she told me it was M. David Spear, but had to repeat it for me because she said it so fast, I couldn't catch it the first time. It was through the results of my research that I concluded it was DAC.

Lucky for me, I had something else scheduled for the same time as the signing, so I declined the assignment.

The big red flag for me was her reticence in disclosing the identity of the SS, which led me to think she was hiding something. The comments here on NotRot about DAC generally range from lukewarm to negative. I assume elsewhere they're even worse.

BEWARE OF DAC and M. David Spear!

Guys beware of Document Assistance Company and M. David Spear! He is a total con man! He owed me money for a past due signing from DECEMBER! After calls...and calls....and calls......and lie...after lie...after lie.....lets see....he told me had a major accounting glitch....and was cutting me the check.....when no check came....and I called him a few weeks later...he tells me that to be toally honest....he just did not send the check. So he gives me a DHL tracking number and says he is sending it out the very next day. I check the tracking number for 2 days with no results. I then send him an email that i plan on contacting the title company, lender and I am going to report him to the better business burearu...and I also work in the criminal justice system and I plan on going after him with the law. The check shows up on MONDAY...go figure...via FEDEX...not DHL as he said it would. Then he sends me an email making me out to be the bad guy becuase "I threatened him with my job"....this must have been the only thing that scared him into paying up! He is a con man and a liar! I say the only way you will get paid...is to play hard ball!! Good luck collecting your money...if anyone would like me to forward you the emails we exchanged just email me and I will forward them to you.

The DAC that I worked is in Newport Beach CA. I did as assignment for them on 1/29. Included with the confirmation was a payment schedule. All work done form Jan 28 to Feb 12 was invoiced on Feb 15 and checks will be sent on Mar 15.

I too followed their very specific and clear directions. According to their enclosed payment schedule, I should have been paid February 2007. However, I still haven't been paid.
