Do you additionally charge your own fee for a bounced check?

I just got a bank notice that a small check from a signing agency I deposited was returned unpaid. My bank is charging me a fee for that, for which I expect to be reimbursed by the check's maker.

Does anyone charge their own handling fee on top of that?

Before I even knew the check bounced, they sent me a replacement check, but for just the 'even' amount of the bad check.

TIA

I would charge at least double what your bank is charging you.

In California the writer of the check is liable for up to triple the amount of the check.
