Easy way to give TC's tracking numbers.
Just a tip to cut down on some repetitive work. I use Fed Ex online for 99% of my outgoing packages. I input the TC's/SS's email addy (the one for closing confirmations) in my address book, and every time I create a label the tracking info is automatically emailed to the TC/SS. Several of my TC's love it, and I'm not receiving tons of phone calls for tracking info.

Make it part of your billing.
That way I have found, no one can say that they didn't receive your billing.

Lisa, This sounds so much easier. What program are you using to create your label?

Set up an online account with Fed Ex. Then input all the TC's into the address book, along with their account info, etc. Makes life so much easier.

Re: Make it part of your billing.
I do the same, but generate the tracking and shipping label directly from quickbooks. It pastes right into my invoice.

It's interesting that you posted this today. I bought a database program for my Palm today. I'm making a database that will have a lot of information from the closings I do (company, date, borrower's name, tracking number, fee, ... etc.). It will also have a note section. This way I'll have all of that information, all of the time, in the palm of my hand. I'm also setting up databases of companies (contact info, quirks, etc.), zip codes, ... all kinds of information that I want to have handy. I will also be able to check a box to show that I got paid, and when. It has a desktop application so I can work with the information in my office, then take it with me on my Palm. It will be like having QuickBooks, a spreadsheet, a database, and more, all on my Palm.

Re: question for Leon/CO
Hi Leon, What program did you purchase? I have a Palm Treo, the program that you described seems as if it would benefit me as well. Thanks,

Re: question for Leon/CO
The program is called HanDBase. It's probably the best database program you can get for a Palm. I have been using it for many years, but just recently bought an upgrade for my Palm T|X. I love it. You can do anything with it. Here's a link:

Click around on the website to learn more about it, free downloads, etc.
Good luck.
------------------------------------ P.S. I think the Treo is great. I'm considering getting one.
